THIS 4-WEEK CLASS WILL MEET WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7, 14, 21, & 28 FROM 6:00PM TO 8:00PM

In this beginner-level course, instructor Macy West Zimmer will teach students about the intricacies of oil paint and abstract art with a focus on the power of color. Students will learn about the scientific theory of color and how utilizing the color wheel can dynamically affect their art. In the first two classes, students will explore their materials and surfaces, experiment with color mixing and technique, and create several small studies. Macy will spend the last two classes guiding students through the process of creating their own 16in x 20in painting using the techniques they learned, and students will expand their knowledge of oil paints and develop different techniques and skills to continue their work.
