Intermediate Drawing: Introduction to Figure Drawing
Wednesdays March 13, 20, 27, and April 3, 10 from 6:00-8:00PM.
Instructor: Caroline Poehler
Figure drawing is one of the oldest and most valuable artistic traditions. In this course, you will be working with a nude model, which is an invaluable asset to aspiring and established artists alike. Drawing a model from observation develops and broadens one’s perceptual drawing skills. Through this experience students will further their understanding of the proportional relationships and rhythms of the body and natural forms. This course will introduce you to various materials, techniques, and approaches to drawing the human form including gesture drawing, contour, outline, and tonal modeling. Frequent individual critiques and guidance will help students personalize their creative thinking and expression.
*Must have a basic understanding of drawing prior to taking this course.
*This course may also be purchased per class for artists and others looking for model access and a drawing group rather than instruction/direction.
