Exploring Pastels for Beginners
Thursdays, April 11, 25, May 2, and 9 from 6-8PM.
Pastels have such vivid colors, and a fast and forgiving nature making them the perfect medium for creative expression. In this beginner level course, instructor Caroline Poehler will introduce you to both oil and chalk pastels. You will deepen your understanding of color blending, color mixing, composition, and texture with still life, famous artist inspiration (focusing on Degas, and Mary Cassatt!), landscapes, and more. Learn to experiment and have fun with color while working with a medium that gives art a tactile quality unlike any other.
